Let Us Make Man In Our Image

Updated: Oct 4, 2021

“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them

have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the

cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing upon the earth. So

God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and

female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be

fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion

over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing

that moveth upon the earth.” -Genesis‬ 1:26-28 (KJV)

From the earth, God created man; from man, God created woman, and from

woman, God created you. God created man and woman in the image of the Father,

Son, and the Holy Spirit, granting man and woman creativity, intellect, rationality,

emotions and holiness. God graciously placed man above all living creatures, and

awarded man with the honor of being the head person in charge, tending to, and

guarding, the Garden of Eden. Man had an up-close and personal relationship with

God, Himself. Not only did God bless man with woman, but, He also awarded a

double blessing, by commanding man to be fruitful and to multiply their offspring.

From the beginning, God’s intentions for man were good.

In a world where image is crucially judged by societal norms, it can be a challenge

to truly know and understand who you are, and where you fit in. Every decade has

its own style. Every culture has its own ways. Every organization has its own rules

and regulations. Your identity can easily get lost in translation. Who you are and

who you were created to be, resides on the border of a blurred line. Your identity

can feel as if you no longer have ownership of it, auctioning it off to the highest

bidder.

No matter what societal norms are, or, are not, your image is found in God. You are who God created you to be.

You can no longer allow social media, fads, fashion magazines, culture, organizations, nor traditions, to tell you who you are, nor what your purpose is. God created you specifically for His purpose. No matter if you were conceived within the sanctity of marriage, or in the lust of fornication, God purposely created you. He did not create you in the image of a snake, a rat, a dog, nor, a pig; He created you in the image of Himself.

Sister, you were beautifully and wonderfully made. Your skin, your hair, your

eyes, your nose, your slim figure, your curvy, curves…all created by God. Your boldness, your caring ways, your analytical mind, your ability to love from a broken heart…all created by God. YOU are His masterpiece!
