As a Christian woman in business, it’s easy to say that God is the CEO—but are you actually meeting with Him like He is?
That question changed everything for me.
A business meeting with God is not just a cute phrase or a one-time prayer before launching your offer. It’s a consistent, intentional space where you invite God to speak directly into your business decisions. From what to sell to who to serve, He has the wisdom you need. All He’s waiting for… is the meeting.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck in your business, this practice will anchor you. Here's how it works and how you can start today:
What Is a Business Meeting with God?
Think of it as your strategic planning session—but with the Holy Spirit. It’s a sacred time set aside to ask God real questions, receive real answers, and align your actions with His direction. It’s not just about hearing from God—it's about honoring Him as the leader of your business and giving Him space to lead.
This meeting helps you avoid confusion, stay focused, and move forward with peace. You stop guessing and start building with grace.
How to Have a Business Meeting with God
Let’s walk through the exact steps I follow in every Business Meeting with God. Don’t worry—this doesn’t have to be complicated. God isn’t looking for perfection; He’s looking for partnership.
1. Pick a Consistent Day and Time
Just like you’d schedule a Zoom call with your team, you need to schedule time with God. Choose a quiet, uninterrupted time—early mornings work well for many women, especially moms. I recommend doing this twice a month—once at the beginning, and once at the end.
Set the tone: show up on time, get dressed if you need to, and honor God with your presence. He’s not just your Father—He’s your business partner.
2. Come Prepared with Questions
Don’t show up empty-handed. Bring your journal and come ready to ask specific, strategic questions like:
What offer should I focus on this month?
Who am I called to serve in this season?
How should I generate income right now?
What should I pause, prune, or pivot?
These questions give God room to respond. No detail is too small for Him.
3. Begin with Worship and Prayer
Before diving into your business concerns, spend time worshipping. Thank God for the vision He’s given you. Invite the Holy Spirit in and ask Him to remove distractions, fear, or doubt that would keep you from hearing clearly. This softens your heart and tunes your spirit to receive.
Faith is the access point. Come expecting that He will speak.
4. Sit Quietly and Listen
This part is key. After you pray, stop talking. Be still. Listen for His voice—through a thought, a prompting, a Scripture, or even a sense of peace or conviction. Write down everything you hear. Don’t overthink it.
Even if it doesn’t make sense yet, record it. Sometimes God answers things you didn’t even ask.
5. Thank Him and Review Your Notes
Close the meeting with gratitude. Thank God for showing up and revealing His will. Then take a moment to review your notes. If anything is unclear, ask for clarification. Is this for now or later? Was this You, Lord, or just me? Keep the dialogue going.
God is not afraid of your questions—He welcomes them.
6. Set the Next Meeting and Take Action
Before you wrap up, schedule your next meeting. Put it in your calendar so you stay consistent. Then—and this is important—apply what He said. Don’t let your journal become a graveyard of instructions you never acted on.
Faith without works is dead. So take what you heard and implement it—knowing God is backing every move you make.
Sis, It’s Time to Take the First Step
If this stirred something in your spirit, don’t just read and move on—act. Start by picking a time for your first Business Meeting with God this week.
And sis—don’t be discouraged if your first meeting feels a little awkward. That’s normal. You’re building a new rhythm with God, and like any new habit, it takes a little time. Just keep showing up. Go in believing that He will speak, because He will. The more you practice stillness and expectation, the clearer His voice becomes.
If you need help walking through it step-by-step, I created something just for you:✨ The Business with God Email Series. It’s a 4-part series that walks you through exactly how to have these meetings, hear from God on your niche, your offer, and your marketing strategy.
