What you allow to enter your mind, heart and spirit ultimately controls you in some form or
fashion. I want to share with you how important it is to know who and what has an influence on your thoughts.
Your thoughts just don’t come out of thin air, a lot of absorption takes place, for real. Whether it be good, bad or indifferent, you are taking in and processing so much information second by second. Have you ever heard of the saying that if you tell a lie long enough, you start to believe the lie? Well, I am pretty sure that is true. Your subconscious mind is very controlling.
It’s very important to be protective of your thoughts. How does one protect their thoughts? Well, they first must make conscious choices about what information they want in and what information they want out. You really have to be very picky, especially if you desire to have positive, well-balanced and artful thoughts and actions. First, you have to evaluate all of the influential things happening in and around you. When you turn on the television, radio, etc. When you open up a book, read a blog (hint, hint), read a newspaper, scroll through social media, etc. This information shapes your thoughts, truly!
Before you know it, you may start to think and say things and question where did that come
from? How about the people who you live with, work with or interact with on a regular or
consistent basis. Everything has some level of impact. One must choose wisely, who and what they listen to especially if you desire to grow and evolve in life. We may all have different ways or perspectives about life in general but we all are being influenced by something.
I challenge you to simply take some mental notes each day and compare what you think and
say and reference where it originated from. You never know, you might be able to change some things in your life that you don’t like, or what you see in others by simply taking
inventory of your mind, heart and of course with your words.
Until next time!
