Healing Through Surrender

Surrender is a scary word, isn’t it? Honestly, it brings up negative experiences and narratives in my mind just saying the word. For me, mentally and sometimes psychologically it provokes an internal fight with the automatic thought that come rushing in. It reminds me of the times I gave up my body, my mind, and my opinions to an individual, only to result in more internal hurt and confusion.

Merriam-Webster does not make the word surrender easy to digest, (verb)-“to yield to the

power, control, or possession of another upon compulsion or demand.” and (noun)- ”the action of yielding one's person or giving up the possession of something, especially into the power of another.”

So naturally, it makes sense when we read scriptures such as, “ I have been crucified with

Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”~ Gal 2:20 ESV, or “And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.” ~Luke 9:23 ESV, and “For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” ~Matt 16:25 ESV; we feel the intensity of what Paul and Jesus spoke. It is a hard pill to swallow.

You are the evidence that there is healing through surrender! When you surrender over your fear provision comes,” Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10. When you have faith in His promises low self-worth is traded in for confidence, “God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not fulfill it?”~ Numbers 23:19. Giving up possession of worry and anxiety brings peace, “Cast all your anxiety on him because He cares for you.” ~ 1Peter 5:7.

God does not think as the world thinks. Daughter, you have the mind of Christ. You must

surrender the ways and the definitions of this world to the ways and wisdom of God! I exhort

you to go in prayer daily according to Romans 12:1-2, “in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is His good, pleasing, and perfect will." I will be doing the same with you. We don’t have time to not receive the healing our Father promises us. I am a witness that you will experience healing when you surrender to God what He already said in His word and what the Holy Spirit is prompting you to yield control to God even now.

By the authority of the Holy Spirit, I pray you will ask God to help you surrender so you can encounter the freedom and healing that comes from obedience and daily surrender. Amen.
